LawExchange welcomes three new members from three different continents

Global law network LawExchange International has accepted three new member firms from three different continents, making a total of 20 member firms.

Japanese law firm Uchida & Samejima, which is based in Tokyo, joins Lautenschleger, Romeiro and Iwamizu from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Scottish-firm Lindsays with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Masahiro Samejima, from Uchida & Samejima, said: “This was a great opportunity for our firm to become a member of LawExchange and will hopefully open up our services to new foreign clients. As one of the most well-known boutique IP/IT firms in Japan we are looking to build on this expanding area of law globally and will be able to offer expertise to clients of fellow LawExchange members.”

Eduardo Romeiro, from Lautenschleger, Romeiro and Iwamizu, commented: “In recent years Brazil has become an important emerging economy with great growth potential, but Brazilian companies have also been spreading their businesses throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. In this sense, we are now able to offer our clients the benefit of counting on a LawExchange member whenever such a need may arise.”

David Reith, managing partner of Lindsays, added: “As a leading Scottish law firm we are delighted to have been appointed LawExchange International’s member for Scotland. We have been very impressed by the ethos of LawExchange and its member firms which provides us with the perfect platform from which we can support our clients when they are operating internationally.”

All three firms were invited to become members after attending LawExchange’s conference in Boston, USA, in October.
