The latest addition to Procopio’s (USA-San Diego) thriving practice is Jan Goldsmith, who for the last eight years served as San Diego City Attorney after a distinguished career as a practicing attorney, civil servant, and judge. Most recently he served two terms as San Diego City Attorney, stepping down at the end of 2016 due to term limits. Prior public service included a decade as a judge on the San Diego Superior Court, three terms as a member of the California State Assembly, and several years as a councilman and mayor for the city of Poway, California. Goldsmith began his career in private practice specializing in business litigation. He has won extensive accolades, including career achievement awards from the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the San Diego Business Journal, and the University of San Diego School of Law.“I’m excited to return to private practice, and I see Procopio as a perfect fit,” said Goldsmith. “I’ve practiced the law, I’ve written the law, I’ve taught the law, and I’ve enforced the law.
