The Hewitsons (Cambridge) corporate unit has recently completed a large scale refinancing and purchase of four anaerobic digestion plant companies. The total consideration for the transaction was £17.66m. It was a project that took several months as the Sellers were a venture capital house and the client was moving from one bank to another at the same time and refinancing the whole of their farming operation.This is one of a number of green energy projects that the firm has worked on in the last two years. The corporate, property, construction and agricultural units have developed a significant level of expertise in such projects including the funding and construction of wind turbine parks and solar panel farms. The Cambridge business community is heavily investing in this area and we can make introductions to clients of LEI members who wish to collaborate in such projects.
