HEWITSONS INVESTS IN TALENT WITH TRAINEE APPOINTMENTS

Hewitsons solicitors has demonstrated its continued commitment to the training and development of its staff with the appointment of seven new talented trainee solicitors; five in its Cambridge office and two in its Northampton office.Sarah Baron, Emma Bowman, Charlotte Bull, Sardeep Gill and Tobias Gleed-Owen have all joined the Cambridge office and James Makin and Shumona Neswar have joined the Northampton office to begin their two year trainee programme at Hewitsons. This unique opportunity gives trainees a taste of four different legal specialisms on a six month rotation period across the firm’s departments.Sarah has undertaken a number of legal work placements following her graduation from the University of Sheffield, where she studied Law and Criminology. Her first placement sees her join the Private Client team under the direction of Daniel Curtis.Emma graduated with a first class degree in Medical, Veterinary and Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and following a career change she now joins the Dispute Resolution team as her first role in the training programme. Meanwhile, Charlotte, who graduated with a first class degree in History from the University of Leicester, joins the Agriculture team under the leadership of Denise Wilkinson.Sardeep has gathered valuable experience in a number of legal work placements since graduating from the University of Exeter. He joins the Property team with James Simpson as his guidance. Finally, Tobias joins the Commercial Litigation team following a number of work placements since graduating from the University of Cambridge with a BA (Hons) Law degree.James joins the Property team as his first placement at the firm under the leadership of Gareth Williams. He graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) in History and followed this with a number of legal work placements. Meanwhile, Shumona takes up a place in the Contentious Dispute Resolution team under the direction of Dominic Hopkins. Previously she was an adjudicator with the Financial Ombudsman Service and has also undertaken a number of legal work placements. She graduated with a first class degree in Law from the University of London.Colin Jones, Hewitsons’ managing partner, said: “As a firm we pride ourselves on the high calibre of trainee solicitors that we attract each year and the important role they play in our client service.  Our trainees benefit from varied and extensive hands-on experience working and learning from senior members of the team while training with us.
