Hewitons’ Partner Appointed Deputy Lieutenant
3 April 2018
Hewitsons is proud to announce Dominic Hopkins’ appointment as Deputy Lieutenant for Northamptonshire in recognition of the service he has rendered for the county. In the United Kingdom a Deputy Lieutenant is an appointment by the Lord-Lieutenant, the Monarch’s personal representative in a county, on command of the Crown. In this role, Dominic will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in his duties, including officiating at ceremonies and other official events in the county (for example, for Citizenship and national or local remembrance) and may represent the Lord-Lieutenant in his or her absence. This means that unusually, the firm now has two of its Partners who hold this Crown appointment; Ben Moorhead, partner in our London office has been Deputy Lieutenant for Kent for four years.
