Hewitsons held an inaugural Restructuring Forum on 26th March at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London. Hosted by Christopher Mackie, head of Corporate Recovery & Insolvency, the seminar featured four specialist speakers. Hewitsons partner Dominic Hopkins addressed some of the key developments impacting the insolvency law landscape and also spoke about Brexit. Other speakers included James Couser, Barrister from Three Stone, who considered the increasing impact of the 2018 Practice Direction in relation to remuneration applications. Cheryl Jones, Barrister from 3 Paper Buildings and Deputy Insolvency & Companies Court Judge, provided an update on recent case law and Peter Fenwick MRICS Chartered Surveyor and Strategist to the Restructuring Industry, presented a property market review, predictions for the future and how insolvency practitioners can manage and capitalise on the changes. The event was well received with over 70 guests who all enjoyed the views of London skyline at night after the seminar.
