PHILLIPS LYTLE LLP TO HOST CANADIAN STARTUPS AS PART OF CANADIAN DIGITAL MEDIA NETWORK “GET THERE” PROGRAM AT FIRM’S NEW YORK CITY OFFICE

New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP will host Canadian companies as part of the Canadian Digital Media Network “Get There” Program. The program will take place on Tuesday, November 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Lytle's New York City office, located at 340 Madison Avenue.The 13 companies in attendance will receive a tour of the Phillips Lytle space, as well as an overview of resources provided through the Phillips Lytle Venture Capital Team and Communitech NYC Powered by Phillips Lytle.Phillips Lytle has been a leader in the start-up space, advising startups from across Southern Ontario, Upstate New York, and New York City. In 2011, Phillips Lytle partnered with Ontario, Canada-based innovation center, Communitech, where the law firm opened office space. In 2016, Phillips Lytle launched Communitech NYC Powered by Phillips Lytle, a workspace and incubator-extension for existing Communitech start-up companies and alumni to gain access to resources, business connections, customers, and funding opportunities in New York City. The arrangement with Phillips Lytle further connects Communitech and Canada’s entrepreneurial scene with New York City’s “Silicon Alley."Phillips Lytle Special Counsel Asaf Hahmi, who will present at the program, concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, securities law matters, corporate finance, strategic alliances and joint venture transactions, technology licensing, and related general corporate and intellectual property matters. He provides legal services to both domestic and foreign clients, including institutional investors and funds, high net worth individuals, and public and private companies, as well as many startups, emerging businesses, founders, and entrepreneurs.
