Third sector leaders event success for Lindsays and ACOSVO

4 March 2019

In partnership with ACOSVO, our Third Sector Drinks Reception was held at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo headquarters on Cockburn Street. We welcomed over 100 guests representing 80 third sector organisations from across Scotland who gathered at this event to explore how we can make 2019 as a year of opportunities for everyone in this field.Pat Armstrong, CEO of ACOSVO was introduced by one of our charity law experts, David Dunsire, who himself is a well-known figure to many across this sector. We were also delighted that keynote speaker, Aileen Campbell MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government was able to address our guests, reassuring them of the importance of this sector and emphasising that the partnership, leadership and co-operation which is found in abundance in the Scottish voluntary sector is essential to its success.Amongst the praise and recognition for leaders operating in this sphere, David Dunsire said: “Despite the challenges facing all businesses and sectors during this current uncertainty, there is one thing that I have learned over the many years in advising this sector, and that is that its leaders are resilient and adaptable and face challenges head on. I am therefore confident that the future for the sector remains bright. It is important we do look forward with optimism and seek new opportunities.”Pat Armstrong, who has worked in the third sector for over 25 years and was recognised with an OBE for services to voluntary organisation in the 2018 New Year’s Honours List, also commended the work and commitment shown by the leaders in the room. She said: “I see a great deal of positive work coming out of the sector with many inspirational industry leaders achieving great things.”We are pleased that Lindsays is a Strategic Partner of ACOSVO and are proud to be able to support this organisation which provides such invaluable peer support to all its members.
