Seven member firms sent representatives to the fourth annual LawExchange International Americas Regional Conference in Buffalo, New York in late September.The agenda for the one-and-a-half day conference included discussions on challenging market conditions, work flow and activities. In addition, members discussed ways to enhance even greater overall communication and cohesion among member firms. These two attributes are essential to building bonds of trust and confidence, which in turn facilitate enhanced confidence in making constructive and successful referrals.Two major initiatives emanated from the Americas Regional Conference. First, an extensive database of each member’s capital and deal sources was developed. This broadened reach of contacts enhances the effectiveness of each lawyer in attempting to assist clients in searching for capital, strategic opportunities or other business needs. Second, an administrative personnel group was established to meet periodically to share office administration, financial and accounting ideas, marketing approaches, information technology and other law firm management best practices.The LEI Americas Region boasts nine quality mid-market firms; seven from North America and two from South America.
