Friday evening, I (Fred Tannenbaum, Gould & Ratner, Chicago) was at a black tie event for the Economic Club of Chicago. At cocktails, a friend of mine strode across the crowded hall, bounded into my conversation with a big smile and arms outstretched, and said:  “Fred!  I want to give you a big hug. Your introduction to Jim Wholey was a Godsend. He is brilliant and saved my business! You deserve all the tea in China for this introduction.” I hope Jim is blushing. (Jim Wholey is a Phillips Lytle partner in their Washington DC office.) He was instrumental helping my client navigate a highly sensitive export matter with a country designated an enemy of the US, so this was very sensitive and tricky.
