Thanks to a collaboration idea discussed by partners Alejandro Suarez from Procopio (Austin)  and Gallardo, Igareda, Servin & Rodrguez’s (Mexico) Manuel Rodríguez during the Rio Conference, a long-awaited reunion finally took place between the two firms.   For almost a full day meeting, more than 25 lawyers from Procopio, including partners and associates, from the Corporate, Energy and International Tax practices, hosted in their San Diego, CA offices five of GISR partners from similar areas of expertise.The lunch meeting was led and moderated by partner Alejandro Suarez from Procopio’s Austin, TX office during which lawyers had the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk briefly on their practice areas to identify mutual ways for potential collaboration on matters requiring international legal expertise.    The day could not be completed without Michael Kinkelaar energetic and highly entertaining tour of Procopio’s office and staff introduction, followed by a happy hour event during which lawyers from both firms had the opportunity to interact on a more informal environment.GISR thanked Mike and Alejandro for their time and effort in putting together this event; certainly opportunities like these crystallize the spirit of LawExchange.
