In mid-September, 49 delegates from  25 of the member firms, worldwide, of LEI, met for their Autumn Conference in San Diego. Delegates and companions in San DiegoA full, two-day Agenda included papers on “Growth – Challenges and Lessons Learned”, “The Future of Law – Five trends that will change the practice of law” (given by Debra Baker, CEO, Law Firm Leaders Lab, San Diego), and a panel session, with four distinguished guest speakers, who gave papers on “Global Silicon Valley – CONNECT San Diego and the Innovation Environment and Venture Financing”.Following a presentation by two of their partners, Holst Law Firm, of Aarhus, Denmark, was elected to membership of LEI.Tom Turner, Managing Partner of host firm, Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, said, “It was a great pleasure for my firm to host this Conference – the third time we have done so.   Procopio was the first USA law firm to join LEI and we have been proud to have been a member for 19 of the 20 years of LEI’s existence”.Eduardo Romeiro of Lautenschlager, Romeiro & Iwamizu, the new Chairman of LEI said, “This was a marvellous Conference.   One of the key features of LEI is the emphasis on the exchange of knowledge and experience among our member firms, from so many important jurisdictions.   I strongly believe that this works to the benefit of all our clients.”  Delegates at work at the San Diego Conference[caption id="attachment_1866" align="alignnone" width="150"] Mike Kinkelaar of Procopio speaking at the San Diego Conference[/caption]From collaborating on client matters globally to working together locally, LawExchange International members work together in many ways.
