In a recent ruling, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has once again established the obligation of employers to carefully and reliably record the working hours of employees. In this specific case, it was about recording the working hours of domestic workers employed in the private sector. The ECJ also clarified that this can be done digitally, e.g. using apps, Excel spreadsheets, etc., or manually, e.g. in a notebook or on a time sheet with a signature.
