HHS Finalizes Changes to the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute

On December 2, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued Revisions to the Safe Harbors Under the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) and Civil Monetary Penalty Rules Regarding Beneficiary Inducements. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) also published the final rule Modernizing and Clarifying the Physician SelfReferral Regulations (commonly referred to as the “Stark Law”).
